Moldy recovery strap
I left my strap coiled up in my toolbox for a long time (probably 8 months) without it moving and i think with the combination of rain, snow, and a temporarily wet tarp in there, it got a little humid in there and mold started growing on the edges of my strap. whats the best way to clean this off? it doesnt appear to have harmed the strap...and is my thinking correct that mold wouldnt have eroded anything?

Warm water and chlorine will kill it. Perhaps an ounce to a gallon should do it. Put another ounce of dish wash detergent in the mix to help the chlorine do its work (surfactant). Stir the pot once in a while.

YES. (or at least it's likely enough to not try it on something life critical like a recovery strap)
I would try simply pressure washing it first (water only).
Personally, I would designate it a tree saver and get a new recovery strap.

If you left it somewhere drier and with good ventilation, mold should die and clear up on it's own?
Would take awhile though.
The bleach/soap idea makes sense, but it's too risky considering it might dry out/damage the strap.
