Has anyone used the MityVac 7000 Brake Bleeder Kit? Does it do a good job?

And can I buy it locally(Advance Auto/Autozone)?

I bought mine at a harbor freight store, they do on occasion carry name brand products.
Its awesome, I have used it quite a few times, its easy to use and I would rate it a 10.

 

i tired a vacume bleeder and it could not get all the air out of the lines so from all my experience, nothing works as good as the 2 person system.

 

This works as good as the two person system, but only requires one person.

 

mighty vacs are great. get one,you won't be sorry.

 

I like mine, have used it for well over 10 years now. Takes a little bit to get the hang of it and how to judge the air bubbles you are getting out with it. You need to be able to see when the consistency of the air bubbles change from the trapped air inside the brakes to the fine bubbles from air leaking around the brake bleeder threads. A lot of folks will see those and think they are still getting air out of the brakes when all they are doing is sucking air around the bleeder.

What I typically do is not so much go my the bubbles per se, but rather just suck out 1-2 jars full of fluid. Basically I will suck out one 4 oz. jar full of fluid and if that looks clean and no big bubbles come out, I'll call that good. Otherwise, I'll dump that jar and pull another 4 oz. out and that usually does it. Doing 4-8 oz. per bleeder usually will use about a qt. of brake fluid and pretty well flush out the lines with fresh fluid. Nice thing is you have a handy vacuum pump and gauge to boot, good for troubleshooting vacuum operated things on the engine.

And I do have a pressure bleeder that I hope to try out next time, those are supposed to work quite nice.
