whoa! whoa! whoa! just too risky. what IF........! ya done it once when i was young and did things before my thinking process kicked in. just have a guy out side the truck or ride in the bed and try to locate the niose or come close to where the niose is to narrow it down. did you ever try a little pressure on each shifter as you drove to see if the niose changed or stopped.
I dont know seems ok. Cant be any more dangerous then being under a truck while its moving, wait a minute....

im refering to a guy standing in a parking lot as you drive by or ride in the bed and listen for the noise. just so that im not understood. the drag a guy around on a creeper under the truck was not my idea. this is not good!

just checked out your other thread...pretty decent truck

what are you doing for a parking brake? it is a transfer case mounted disc?
your cable actuated locker looks like a converted e locker

Did your noise increase in frequency? Or remain the same? Wondering if the noise sped up then it would prob trans/t-case related since they would be turning more revolutions per tire revolutions...

No thats just stating it has a t case mounted disc brake. Ill elaborate more on the noise.. still havent been able to take the time to sit in the bed while someone else drives it..

At slow speeds 5-15 mph..when I go from coasting in Neutral or coasting with the clutch down and then put it in gear and let off the clutch pedal i get the metal swooshing noise right before the gear engages.

At high speeds (30+) when I take my foot off the gas and coast in Neutral or coast with the clutch pedal down it is more of a chatter. Like a bunch of BBs inside a coke can..almost sounds like a big rig when its down shifting quick.

I have a t-case e brake . The caliper and pad on the e brake are often loose and rub on the disk causing a noise you described . Go see if you can wiggle the little caliper or pad by hand .

It's an irritating noise to be sure . I would eliminate that as a possibility before looking elsewhere ...

Messed around in my yard with the crawler gear. What all are my gear options? I started in 2wd with just the standard high for the rear case. Went to 2wd with the rear LOW..got a super slow crawl..prolly about 1mph maybe slower..I went to 4wd and left the front in high and the rear in low..still at the same speed as with just the rear in low.. Went to low low and got the same speed again. What are all my gearing options? Can I shift the tranny while using the front and rear t cases in a low range? How many different gear options do I have? NOOB

Bad videos but:

Third video is slow speed going from N to gear...you can hear the metal sliding noise...other 2 videos are really pointless. The sound isnt accurate on them at all
