I am not sure what happend but i thought I posted a question about figuring the lift size. I have a 1984 4runner with what was said a 4" lift but I am not sure. I am going to be buying hi steer and larger springs on the back to take the sag out and would like to know what I am working with. This should go in newbie tech questions as I should know this answer. Thank you for your help and if I am doing something wrong by posting this please tell me and I will put this some where else

Stock height up front is approx. 13.5"-14" from the top of the front wheel (15" assumed) to the lip of the fender. Alternately, on my '85 on stock suspension and worn 30" tires, I measured 36" ground to front fender lip.

 

its dark now but i will post pictures. is there a way to measure the springs themselves or is it frame and off tire height that is going to determine the lift size?

 

what would be the best angles for the lift pictures??

I seen that baby on craigslist, congrats on picking it up or if your the owner who had posted it. From what i saw on the for sale pics looked like it had 3 inch springs front/back or maybe 2 inch springs with blocks in the back but i could be wrong. Having 32's on there kinda throws off the 4 inch stance i think, either way the springs seem a bit settled.

You really need to figure out what the hell lift you have before you even think about adding anything. It's pointless until you know what you got to build on or perhaps tear off.

Yeah I traded my 94 4runner for this which my wife freaked out and thought I was crazy but I think it is a way better 4runner. It does have blocks in the back and flat springs that I want to get rid of and I want the 4 inch mark and dont think it is right now. Springs n shocks all need to be replaced but I need to start somewhere and its probably going to be the back. Had her for about 3 months now I have put new water pump, carb had to rewire the whole rear end to get the lights and rear window to work and have the front axle rebuild kit on the way. I do want to build her up so keep an eye out for her since ur local I would love to meet toyota fans around!!
