leveling out 95 runner
hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows an easy way to just level out a stock 95 4wd 4runner without messing with anything up front. I'm thinking about getting spacers, but I want to know what size spacers would level it. any other suggestions?

Measure and see what it's going to take to bring the rear up.

One of the Techs I work with just put in some napa springs, they were $65? They are a progressive rate spring that returned his truck to stock rear height. This was on a 95 runner at was 1/2" from the bumpstops

I just did the NAPA springs recently. I would recommend it VERY highly if all you want to do is go back to stock height. This was the most notable thing I have done to improve my ride.
Do Not turn your torsion bars down or you will ride even crappier than now.
Forget about spacers completely unless you want to do a lift. Just go down to NAPA, I think my wholesale price on mine was $76. It took me 30 minutes to replace mine on the rack.

yea, what i meant by stock was to make it look like a stock vehicle. raise the rear a little bit to level it. i still want the nice 10 inch clearance up front. either new springs or spacers for the back, or anything else that'll keep it riding like stock, but mainly to raise the rear. sorry, i should have wrote that differently.

The springs from NAPA made mine 100% level and I was about 1/2" away from bottom out.
If you put spacers under worn out springs ya still have worn out springs is what i was trying to say before.

Yeah I only reccommend spacers as a last resort... I always reccommend new springs first.

Hmmm stock is ok but heres what we did on my brothers 95, We used the 1.5" rear lift springs from AllPro Offroad then adjusted the torsion bars accordingly. Then got an alignment. looked great drove fine.

That is what I plan to do when I get some 31" tires. Won't 33" work too with that setup?
In my opinion turning the bars up that little bit has far less negative effect on ride comfort than turning them down to match a saggy back.
Haven't towed a trailer or boat yet. I didn't replace the shocks yet either still got old worn out Ranchos on it.

You know I cant remember if he had 32" or 33" Super swampers on there..... But they certainly were not 31's. I think they might have been 32's but remeber the Super swampers are a lil bigger if not meatier than say an AT or an MT.

The NAPA springs are great and can't beat the price! I towed my boat all the time and I could never tell the springs to pull down with the weight. They set the rear back to the stock height and ride great, if you take some load off the front bars and give it a slight rake to the rear you'll be surprised how nice the 4Runner will ride. I ran Ranchos before I knew better but it was ok, I'm sure a set of Billy's would make for a smooooth ride. I would also recommend Edelbrock ISA shocks, if they make them for the 4Runner. I run a set on my fzj80 and absolutely love them!
