ok, for you guys that have added napa springs, is stock height leveled, or is it still an inch or 2 lower in the rear with the new springs. I took the runner to a friend of mynes shop were two tech's looked at it and told me that the springs were fine. I'm thinking that the person who had the car before me, may have lifted the front with the torsion bars. but it was a chic I bought it from, so i really doubt that. If so, is there a way to check that? keep in mind it is a 4x4, im not sure if that really matters in the back though. I also went out and measured the back. From the floor up to the highest point of the wheel well (on the outside), it is 34 inches. the front is a whole 2 1/2 inches taller. this is really bugging me. i was hoping the tech would just say the springs were bad. haha

I can't post a pic but it made mine perfectly level. The front fender wheel cutouts are higher so that may play a little trick on your eyes but mine is level.

People told me my springs were fine too but they weren't.

The back wheel well is shorter than the front since the tires dont turn

Take a look at the roofline, not the wheel wells..

Measure (with the vehicle on level ground) the distance between the bottom of the rocker (part under the door, so to speak) to the ground. Measure in two spots, right behind the rear of the front wheel well and right in the front of the rear wheel well.
That'll tell you for sure.

Here is the truck with NAPA springs, setting how it would stock. As stated before, the front fenders have a larger oppening, giving the illusion that the rear is lower.

This is how I ran it with a slight rake, made the gaps in the fenders look the same.

That looks just like mine. I didn't like the ride with my front end cranked down a little what do you think of it?

I thought it rode better with the t-bars down than at stock. I adjusted the t-bars on a daily basis for about a week till I got it where it I was happy with the height and ride, then took it for an alignment.

I thought mine was too soft but I still had the old springs on when I messed with them. Maybe I just corner hard too.

After all this discussion I realized today that it is not "exactly" level it is still down about 1/2" in the back. But it rides great.

Well here is the deal with adjusting the front. It will have the tendancy to want to spring up, because the pre-load on the t-bars. Which means you will top out the upper arms on the bump stops more offten than the stops on the lower arms. You should not bottom the lower arms out since the t-bars are pre-loaded and working aginst that direction up. SO, for the best ride, equal hits on either bump stops, etc. means you should have less distance on the lower arms and stops than the upper arms and stops. The stock hight is not setup this way and is why when I lowered my front the ride improved.

Oh and I say should not bottom out, but we all know the stock t-bars are pretty soft, which is why I still had to play with mine for a few days till I was happy.

ok, I want to do this right, so I've basically decided to get springs from all pro offroad http://www.allprooffroad.com/index.p...sk=view&id=122 From what I've heard from a few people, these springs lift the rear a little higher than the front, so I am going to go in and mess with the T bars, which is originally what I was trying not to do, but I said what the hell, minus well make it look good. What does everyone think of that? I just hope it doesn't compromise my ride quality too much since I travel 95% of the time on highway. I'm just gonna keep the stock shocks on there for now. They're still good. any other suggestions with anything or my idea?

Not a bad price.. I had custom coils wound for my 95 that were 30% stiffer, and they rode like a dream...

does anyone know of any other company that sells 1 1/2" coils other than allpro and downey. I also want some opinions if you have a different kind. ride quality. other things you had to do after adding the new springs. etc. thanks for all your help so far everyone.

Performance Products, but I'm not sure if it's a full 1 1/2" gain, maybe closer to only 1". They are progressive rate like the NAPA springs and should ride very nice on the street.

You could also get some lx450 short coils. That should give about 2" but that means finding a set of two since one set would include a long and short one. Usally they go for less than $50 a pair from the fzj80 guys.
