led strip lights

I have 2 12v led lighting strips that I would like to place in the foot wells of my 95 4 runner I would like to wire them so they come on when you open the doors. can someone tell me how to do this or direct me to a site? Also does anyone know where I can find clear covers for the door panel lights so I can swap out the red ones ?

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give.

You could get the source from the dome light. Don't try using the door switch since it will only work when one door is open.

Bass is right on. Run it to the dome light and save the head ache. It will work with both sides.

I wanna do this as well. One on the ceiling, preferably with some 3M adhesive already on it. and some shorter ones under each side of the dash. also does anyone have any ideas or tips to wire up a glove box light on a 1st gen 4runner?

There should already be a glove box light.

Sounds like its time to plan a light for the glove box lol.

You could pick up a universal light from autozone (installed two under the hood for work lights connected to a switch panel). Maybe get a push button switch from the junk yard and mount it so that closing the glove box will turn the light off.

That stuff is pretty cool, I went under the door and tacked into the courtesy light, and put one on the rollbar as well. big difference.

How did you tap into the dome?? I wired mine to open with the doors and I was really confused on how to put it to the light itself almost looked like I would have to solder it directly to the switch mechanism if that makes sense, so yes we require pics of what you tapped into please
