Hi, guys i just bought a 98 4runner lmd and I LOVE IT!!! But i have a question...The guy i bought it from didnt have a keyless remote but ive checked the truck and it is capable(security on dash and black vip box under drivers seat) i just want to make sure im about to purchase the right one so if someone can verify that this one is the right one i would appreciate it!

same one i have- but, OUCH! checked ebay? i believe all remotes can be reprogrammed to your box...

 

Well...... thats not what mine looks like but that doesnt mean it wont work. Also my 4rnr is a 99, heres a pic of what my factory remote looks like

 

whats the id # on that one?

 

On mine it says fcc ID:HYQ 512Y

 

I think they changed in 99 the keys and the VIP system i think in 99 they have VIP RS3200 vs RS3000 which is the one i have...i wonder if the dealership would trade me lol because i like the keyless back window button

 

yeah the rear window button is nice, it only rolls it down though

oh nice my mom lives in macon and if you take the back roads and come up through eatonton it only takes about an hour to get from here to there or there to here. we should get together and go wheeling sometime.
