I'm even on the fence about taking it to the dealership for the HG recall period. It's possible that the headgaskets will be fine for the rest of the life of the truck, and it's possible that taking it to the dealership to get the recall done (when it's not needed) will do more harm than good. I think a few dealerships have been known to screw stuff up.

In my opinion, if the headgaskets are good now, leave them alone. If they let go at some point, take it in to see if they'll honour the recall. If yes, get it done... if no, then you're out one weekend day and $100 in parts to replace them yourself, so no big deal.

No NOT mt gf. I wish. Thanks for all the help, i went to my dealer and the also said it was a temp thing. I scheduled an appt for them to do my hg next week...free
