like the rocket booster idea!!
theres this brand new thing, just came out yesterday. you might not have heard of it yet
its called SEARCH
USE IT!!
then ask detail questions with what direction you are going with your yota, and if you have a budget like the rest of us who want more HP but no money to go about it.

Wow, what practical advice guys. lol. If ya use the search feature here on yotatech you should be able to turn up some good tips for power modification. Theres always generic things like air intake mods and exhaust. frankly i dont know too much about whats out there for the newer rigs, but i'm sure if you search google you can find tons of stuff.

Well, as mentioned the search feature is your friend, however since this is in the newbie section, no member in the newbie section should be told to search.
As for power, well there are many things you can do but the results typically will depend on $. What is your budget?
When you say alot more power the only real response is to get a TRD supercharger. This with all the fuel upgrades can put you in the 2-3k range depending on where you source your parts.
All the other little mods like cold air intakes and such will just make your wallet lighter which is probably what gives you the increased "seat of your pants" horsepower.

Thank you Godzilla for reminding us which section this was in ...
So - to the OP - when you say "alot more power" how much are you thinking? What do you have now - v6/4cyl, manual/auto?
What is your end goal?
Because if it's to beat your friends in a drag race, just sell the 4Runner and get something lighter. If you think you need power for offroad, you're mistaken - you need torque, and the best way to get that is gearing.

First, welcome to YT; you'll find lots of answers to that question on this site.
yeah, "alot more power" is pretty broad. In 3.4 land, a lot of people would regard that at a supercharger/headers combo...that usually makes the 1.21 gigawatts you need to get up to 88 miles per hour.
