I was thinking of an UPGRADE soon...

Once I complete some maintenance work on my 4Runner, I'd like to do an upgrade project after the rainy season...

People talk about audio, engine, suspension, or body...

I'm more interested in Suspension, then engine, and then body.
Audio isn't my thing, because I've pretty much grown out of that phase of life.

For my first eventual project, SUSPENSION!!!

What is a recommended suspension upgrade for a reasonable price, under $1000... I'm not looking to rock climb.
Just: ground clearance, no handling loss, around 3" lift, This is a daily commuter of about 35 miles roundtrip highway/ 5 days a week.

Anyone with suggestions?

Someone didn't really have there thread completely answered, so I'd like to re-emphasis the question... Thanks!!!

the reason it was completely answered is because everyone has a different opnion. what works perfect for some (ie ball joint spacers and LC coils) didnt work for me, hince why i SAS'ed it.

but OME sounds like it would be a good fit for your requirements.

If it were me, I would spend a little extra and get the Sonoran System #7.

if you want clearance take off those runningboards. that will make it look higher. and i would raise it up and get some bigger tires. i think if you do your homework, you can get all that for 1k.

Yeah... getting rid of the running boards would be ideal... But, my fiancee is 4'11" and that's like her best friend to getting in the 4Runner, lol.

You can replace those running boards with sliders.

From: WA. The Blue Mountains are my playground.
I second the poster suggesting OME. I did one my second gen and it made the handling ten times better.

OME has a proven track record. just look at the Dakar Rally! if the OME suspension can handle those grooling conditions, i'm sure it can handle a DD 4Runner.
