im considering lifting my truck this is my first truck and i went toyota so already im off to a good start. my question is how high can i lift my 91 pickup extended cab v6 without having to do anything else like lengthining steering column or driveshaft, etc....? how high can i go and how high is too much? thanks.

thank you very much, that was very helpful. sorry i didnt find it before but im new to this site so please forgive me. as far as my plans go, im not sure what all my options are yet but i just like having a truck that i can use as a survival tool if necessary. i just got the truck a week ago and so far all ive done is primer it and today i put a 12,000 lb. winch on it. i am up for any other suggestions. thanks again.

Get a good set of tires, and some armor and have fun! These trucks are pretty capable stock.

yeah i put an album up under my profile...i had to prime it for the winter just to get rid of the camo it came with. it looked like it needed a 50 cal mounted to it. ill do the body work in the spring. a little rot but not too much and none on the frame cause it was undercoated with spray on bed liner.

 

Survival tool you say uh. You should only lift the back. About 6 inches. That way when you put 6,000 pounds of survival gear in the back it sits level.




50 battery's, 200galons of water, 400 gallons of whisky, a dvd player, 42'' LCD, spare liver,............................................ .....

lets try this again... welcome to the site, it will, no doubt, be an amazing resorce for learning.

if i was you, i would get some body armor and lockers. then hook your self up with some good tires that are as big as possible WITHOUT lifting the truck. you will be able to keep your steering alive alot longer that way..

X2. Welcome... I was abvoisly kidding. Hope you saw it that way.
I often find my truck with at least 1000 pounds of camping gear. Especially when prepping for long trips. Its like playing tetris in the back of your truck.

Im rambling but theres a point, consider the gear and the weight you'll be hauling around when choosing your lift. It seems to get overlooked a lot. But at the same time don't stick 1ton spring under there if your hauling a tent and a lawn chair most the time. Best of luck with the new project
