I have to say I agree

1. with the jiberish statement on the previous page lol and

2. while I have no problem with the 3.0 (mine my mom's and my girlfriends all treated us well) I wouldn't put one in your truck. It would take so much work and modification with so little benefit that you'd be better off a. getting another 22r (though i hear ya on not bein able to find one) or b. if ya wanna do an engine swap get a better engine find a good 22re to swap in or a nice v6 such as the 3.4 i've seen one put in a 81 though it was lifted as mentioned earlier and you'll have to figure out that hood that's my 2 cents.

I second the 350 swap. The adapters and such might be a little pricey though. I dug around for a little bit researching it, but I believe the power to cost ratio might be the best one out there.

i agree too. i have a 350 in my 82 and love it. didn't cost that much either. bought a 72 gmc jimmy for $500 and pulled everything out of it. 350, 350, 205. built my ony everything else mounts, brackets, drivelines. been my dd for over two years now. only downfall is fuel mileage, but i only have a 2 mile drive to work.

finally after two years i been saving up parts and money and im now gonna swap a 700r4 full manual with twin toyota cases 2.28f 4.7r 23 spline input. can't wait till spring to start my swaps.

I beleive he said he is short on cash though.

And a 350 swap is not cheap. Im already about 2 grand into my 4.3 swap, and i am trading my 22re to a friend for a 4.3, so that doesnt include the price of a motor.

If he is already lifted, and can fabricate then he can drop that price quite a bit. But its probably going to cost more than he would like to pay.

But would definatly be cool

Looking at probably 200 dollars for a running sbc 350..
Its carbed, not tbi or efi.
350/205 or 203 generally can be found just as easily for cheap. And a welder some some steel bars go a real long way.

I doubt you can swap in a 350 for $200. Maybe just the motor. But you still have issues with the adapter plate for the trans. Motor mounts etc etc. To me this guy just wants a quick way out and it's just not gonna happen.

Exactly what i was saying

MOST motor swaps can be done for VERY cheap. But MOST people do not have the ability or resources to get cheap or free parts, so its more likely to cost upwards of 2 grand by the time they are completly done with it.
