hello all, new guy here needs help
Hi everybody, my name is Vladimir and a few months ago i bought a 1990 toyota truck 2wd 22re 5spd.
Ive been having several issues with this truck and i use it as my work truck so i gotta have it running always.
The first and most important problem im having Is with the clutch, as the slave needed to be replaced ,so i went ahead and bought both master and slave at the same time from autozone as a friend gives me a discount on parts. So i replaced both and i cannot seem to get it to pressure up. I bench primed the master and when i pump the clutch pedal it doesnt get hard to bleed it. I thought maybe a bad part so i exchange master and tried again .this time it did get pressure and had a second person pump the pedal and i open up bleeder on slave. I thought i was done because i press pedal and felt like hard like before, but after i picked up tools and jumped in to take a test drive , it was back as before with no pressure . I tried it few times and still nothing. I know im doing it right , but this is pissing me off

Autozone clutch hydraulics what can I say.
Maybe if you go through a few more new sets you might get it working.
We have found that Aisin hydraulics for the clutch seem to be the best.
Are you sure all the connections are clean and tight a piece of dirt will allow air to be drawn in and not leak fluid .
A bad bleeder value will do this as well

There are numerous threads on parts store parts. For about the same price you can get factory parts on line. With these trucks you are better off staying with what Toyota installed on them. I was watching a show just yesterday where they had a new coil out of the box to fail. Garage squad was the show and it was on a Corvette.

I know on the ford ranger you have to grab the pedal with you hand and pump it vigorously between bleeds, I probably spent an hour pumping with my foot like you would with your brakes, switched to my hand and it pumped quickly.
Hope this helps,
Brad

Well, i got the master and slave bled and feels like i have pressure, but its not enough it seems to allow me to put it in gear.
The slave moves but not very much and notice fluid on the top of the resevoir cap . Could the fork be the problem?

I adjusted the rod so the pedal is at the top with plenty of travel. When i start the truck it wont shift into any gears ,but when its off it goes in smooth in every one with no clutch pedal pushed in. I am just gonna drop the tranny and check out the clutch and see whats up, have a feeling its gonna be more than hydraulics

Not saying this is your problem but you might wanna check your clutch pedal to make sure it is not flexing at all. Check this thread for Info Easier and faster than dropping your transmission
I had a similar issue and it turned out to be pinhole leak in the hard line between the rubber flex line to the slave cylinder on my 81.

I dropped tranny and check out clutch, and not much life left in it, so im replacing with new one, and i know when i get it back together the problem will remain .i dont think a worn clutch would be giving me these issues , so im gonna take a look at the pedal bracket. It looks like its been repaired before , but ima take it off and confirm its still good. Thats the last thing i can think of whats causing me to get pissed off

I got my truck up and running again, thanks for everybody's input. After i installed new clutch ,a day later the clutch pedal bracket broke from a previous repair that had crappy popcorn welding. Got a replacement from junkyard, cost me 9.59 and now everything is all good
