Just make sure you are an informed consumer and read the small print on any of the sites that sell HID retrofit kits. Every website I have seen that sell kits of this type have a similar statement somewhere on there. Example below from the HID Planet home page...

Maybe it's my old age (37) but I cannot see a damn thing with my headlights I have tried every imaginable bulb out there and none seem to help...I'm thinking strap on some spot lights on the bumper

some good fog lights would be a huge help in your case I think. We have some Piaa lights on ours and its like driving in the day light.

I was thinking of that I have a Jaos bull bar to put on so I have a place to put them but the Jaos off road lights are WAY to expensive for me I think PIAA would be a nice touch!
Thanks for the suggestion

You can get HID's w/out having projectors. It just blinds people..

I do not have projectors just the stock 01 headlights I put a set of Eaglite plasma xenon bulbls in them and they were AWESOME I mean bright focused light no "glare" but I cannot find these bulbs anymore (go figure) looked just like HID people would always ask me about my lights and I could see SO much better with those bulbs I have bought Silverstar for 50 bucks and still no better ....my roommate's sister has an 03 4Runner I wonder if she would miss her projectors ??
