Has anyone put one here?

I have a quick question. I have a 1997 4runner and am getting ready to install a new system. I was wondering if anyone has put an amp under the driver seat and if so what type. What I am really looking for is the demensions I'm going to want to choose from to fit nicely under the seat. Thanks a lot, any help is appretiated

People have put amps under the front seats before but there is always some disavantages to goin that way. 1. theres not alot of air circulation under their and things can get purdy hot. 2. if you spill anything on your floor, kiss that amp goodbye 3. harder to get to and work on if need be. Whatever happened to the mounting on the back of the rear seat method? If theft prevention is a big concern, how bout mounting it inside one of those cool little cubby holes in the back of your 4runner. Under the seat is the last place i would put one but then again its not my 4runner. Good luck wit whatever you choose man. Take some pics when its all said and done.

yeah, me too, infinity mono... 300-400w?.. dont know dims, but seems a lot would fit dep on how much you dont want it to poke out. Mine fits pretty nicely side to side, and behind bulge in front and still outta the way in rear feet area

I'm in MI where it routinely is crappy, passengers all the time in winter, with slushy shoes, never an issue, if i ever had so much leakage from the floormats to risk the amp, i would kick someones arse first

heat wise, its still pretty ok, and its still better than mounting vertical on a box or to back of rear seats (also have one there (amps dont fit without heavy modification under pass seat))

Thanks I appretiate all the help/tips Im not sure on the amp yet, Im getting CDT speakers almost definitely and an alpline hu but I just wanted to see what dimensions i should be lookin for. I dont really want to have it stick out too much because I dont want to do a lot of cutting to the husky mats infront of the back seats. But the one that elton shows has dim of 10.5 L x 11 W x 2.3 H....so that answers my question. Im looking into alpine, cdt, and if you know of any other quality brands let me know because I am very new to us

Thanks for all the help
