First 2 nd gen

Hey guys I picked up this little beater for a fixer upper it was 1000 bucks anyways I was gunna ask a couple questions as that pop up but one of my questions is tllhey're is a bulb shaped thing on the front of the intake manifold and runs into the air filter housing it looks like an egr system can that be deleted if so how do I go about re arranging the hoses

Its not the EGR. Its the Secondary Pulsed Air Injection, and the "bulb" thingy is just a resonator (muffler). Its part of emissions. Leave it on unless it cracked, broken or otherwise not working. It doesnt effect performance and will help keep your cat in better condition.

You can always get a little air filter to put on top of the "bulb".

Ok I was just wondering if it could be deleted because the engine compartment on my truck is covered in oil I think it has a leak down by the fan cause its on the hood to but I'm trying to clean up the layout of the wires and things the previous owners ran and trying to find the leak also going to swap the battery over to drivers side so the intake can be shorter and out of the way of all the heat sources

Has anyone put gussets over top of where the frame usually goes on these trucksmy frame is good but I would like to put a gusseton top just for strength good idea bad idea?

Depends on what part of the frame you are referring to, it's kinda long and has multiple ceossmembers

ok on the front spring hanger for the rear axle is usually where they go bad would it be a bad idea to cut some c channel and make a triangle gusset where the frame bends infront of the hanger? im talking about the top side of the frame thanks for any help
