Few 4runner Q's

Ive recently bought myself a 95 4runner, love it to bits, it had a few things to get sorted on it, 2 new batterys, front damage, tailgate window and motor but all thats sorted now, just a few small things

firstly, is there a way to install and aftermarket CD player into it?? if not, i dont use radio, i just want to listen to my iphone thru it so i bought one of them tapes that have the MP3 cable coming out of it but when i plug it in it will play but there is this really annoying ticking noise coming out of it?? any ideas

next, i need a rear drop link for the anti roll bar, i ordered on of a website who specialize in the toyota 4x4's but its too short, i also ordered a front one from them and that fit perfectly but the rear one i need is about 12" long and what they sent me was about 5", now i do know that my 4runner has been raised by 4" i think with pro comp es3000 shocks, so do i get the corect drop link off pro comp or is there somewhere else i can get one?? whats odd is the front drop link i got off that site fitted even tho the front has been raised to??? is that cuz the rear drop link is bolts onto the body and the fronts not????

You can use a factory unit from a newer Scion. They bolt right in a plug into the Toyota harness. They are 65 watts and have MP3 player hook ups. You can find them on Ebay for around $50.00

They are not entirely bolt in. You will have to modify your radio surround, as the Scion deck is wider than the 4Runner deck.

Welcome to yotatech!

This is interference from your iPhone. If you put your phone on airplane mode, it won't do this, otherwise, you'll have to live with it or get a head phone jack FM transmitter.

It may be off the tracks, the relay could have gone bad, or the motor has quit on you. I think you'd need to open it up to check which of these is the culprit.

There is a big relay under the drivers side dash, right beside the fuse box. Its greyish blue with a big honkin plug goin into it.

The window is pretty simple, power and ground to go down, switch them to go up. You can put power directly to the motor with test wires. This is how I tested the motors on the doors I bought.

Has anyone put a scion radio into one of our 4runners? This doesn't sound like a bad thing to think about doing I tried searching and didn't get much.

its the same setup for the 2nd gen 4Runners. The radio space is the EXACT same size as in the the 3rd gens, so you will need to trim the radio surround

Alright, awesome. What year or model number should I look for? There is one being sold on the YotaTech marketplace. I may get this project started. It would give me something to do between accounting classes and happy hour.

hi guys...rebuilt the door, window still wasnt working so drove home from workshop with intention of sealing the window incase of rain, then noticed the door lock would only come up and not go down with remote, and then noticed the window was keeping pressure on the inside of the door so tried the window switch again, it came up a little bit then stopped so i grabbed window and put pressure on it outwards to outside of door and "CLICK"..something sat back into place and window is working fine now! cheers for the help guys

now another issue, i just recieved my 2 new clear side repeaters today and am awaiting the new tail lights....how do you pop the old side repeaters out????

and are the tail lights difficult to fit??

repeaters are turn signals I take it? the ones in the bumper have two screws and they slide right out. US spec the lamps next to the headlights don't blink, but they are simple to remove too. Remove the two screws holding it in, and then pull straight out on it, in the same direction you removed the screws. It should pop right out. If not a gentle pry from a screw driver between the lamp and the head light will def. do the trick. If you have to really pry, or it won't come out, you're doing it wrong

sweet fix for the window though, thats awesome

Anything you need for your truck (suspension, lift, etc.) can be gotten at http://www.4crawler.com/. He has an awesome website, awesome product, and awesome instructions. I just wish I could get rid of the black hole that's formed in my wallet so I could spend some more money on my rig!!
