exhaust ????
ok so i have been looking into doing a muffler delete i have looked around here and cant really find anything on it. i am a college student so im really looking for the vroom factor of running straight pipes from my cat. but i was wondering if i will actualy loose power because i know some cars need some back pressure in their exhaust system sorry for the total novice question but thanks in advance

I think with two catalytic converters and a stock diameter pipe you wont need to worry about back pressure. I ran my GTO with no mufflers for quite a while.
You won't have any less back pressure with two cats and no muffler than you would with a muffler and no cats.

well i took the whole muffler off last night and let me tell you its loud and since its just open cats it dumps out right under my feet so inside the cab its very loud so i think i am going to run straight pipes from the cat but i love it!

Be careful letting your exhaust dump under the cab. You don't want to sit at red lights too long lol.
I second what 2DoorRunner said though. I was much happier with a high flow mufflers than none at all. You might want to just drive it around like that for a while before you start chopping.

Yes you will. ADK isn't wrong though. When I ran my GTO with two cats and no mufflers, which is exactly what you are talking about, I still had enough back pressure as in it ran fine and still does to this day. (sold it to a family member). However one thing I did notice is I lost some low end power, but seemed to gain a little on the high end.
It won't feel exactly the same as it did before but you will have more back pressure from two cats than from straight pipes with nothing.

no problem yeah maybe someone on here could show us how to post a video. and yeah i have noticed a ever so slight loss of low end power but way more kick around 3.5-4k but no real tests just some butt dyno testing.

Lol butt dyno, I like that. That's the one that really matters anyway.
I thought it might feel that way, doesn't sound so bad to me though. I think the 5VZ could use a little more power in that RPM range. Even if it does sacrifice some low end torque.

That will definitely save you some money if you have a welder. Wish I had one, I would be out there welding a muffler and high flow cats on mine right now.
