Engine Swaps and prices 91 4Runner
I was looking at picking up a 4Runner 4x4 but the one I found the 3.0 engine is a bit rough at low rpm and doesnt seem to have much power. I drove it down the freeway and pedal to the floor it strugled to get to 65 and never went above 3,000 rpm.
I have a 96 Tacoma 4x4 with the 2.7l in it that got hit in the back and ripped up the rear axle and bed. I think I can get the 4runner for about $1,000 and the frame and stuff seems to be pretty solid and the body is in decent shape. How much can I swap off of the tacoma into the 4runner? Or would I be better off going for a different swap?
I do not know how great the tranny and transfer case are in the 4runner but I know the tacoma is good.
If I were to do a different swap how much do you think I would be looking at?
