E-brake cable question

I need the back section of the e-brake cable (the part that runs from behind t-case to the back wheels).I called my local dealership and they said that there was two different types depending on my vin#.

I was wondering if there was a way i could tell which one I needed, so i could pull one from a junkyard. Toyota wants $86 plus tax. I need an e-brake to go on some local club runs.

They are right there are two different ones check www.toyodiy.com which has a handy parts list just like the dealers use... input your VIN and the select "body" which is where they list "break" {their spelling booboo} parts... under parking brake you should find the info you need.

The difference is in how they connect at the mid point between the front cable which goes to the handle and the rear one.

installation is pretty simple in either case though you may have some issues freeing up the old bolts... use lots of wd-40 or LPS#3 you may need to use a torch as well but be very careful working around the nuts/bolts at the mid point the fuel lines run right beside there.
