Domed Pistons ver. Flat Top Pistons
Can a 22r TEQ head that normally has domed pistons be used on a 22r block with flat top pistons instead? Will there be a great compression ratio lost?

Welcome.
79-84 And 85-95 will not interchange.
The block deck was de-decked in 85. So you cannot and should not interchange the heads.
85-95... Blocks are all the same (Ex Turbo) Semi-flat topped pistons. Have a slight dish.
79-84 blocks are easily ID'd by the high top pistons.
Here's a RE cover on an early 22R block
