First thing is beadlocks are not street legal all over so check on that. Second, unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for a set of true BL, check online the companies that make Beadlock kits for steel wheels. Have to get someone to weld the one ring on, but it's really still cheaper than the trick bead locks I have looked at. Also, with a 13.5 tire, you may want to look into 15x10's for a good average width. 8's may be a little too narrow, and any wider than 10's would expose too much sidewall to damage.

Until you run into a cop who DOES know the difference and have to have your rig towed home because he will not let you drive it, or let alone the "improper equipment" ticket.

Go with the 15x8 wheels of your choice and get the Staun internal beadlocks. Work better than the wheellocks on the outside of a wheel - will protect the rim if you have a blowout plus the only giveaway is the extra valve stem. Pirate has a great article that you can find on their front page about them.

If you do an 8" rim and dont run really low psi (8 or less?) you should be fine. I wheeled with a guy who had 15x8 chevy wheels and 36x14.5 (iirc) or was it 13.5 iroks on 15's and he didnt slip a beat period.

DIY bead locks if you are on a budget
Stauns are amazing, lock both beads, and you can actually balance the tires pretty well.
If you buy a rim with a beadlocked set up, look at paying 350 per for Aluminum, less for steel.
I plan on running scalloped OMF locks on an AL rim with the rock rings for the bolts.
