deck light switch

I just bought my frist yota runner and what does the deck light switch do?

well they are a little tricky. the parking or headlights have to be on . the switch on the dash(next to the dimmer for the dash lights)has to be on and the switch on the light in the cargo area has to be on.

Deck Lamp = turns on the cargo light

Yes. It turns on the little cargo light in the back of the 4runner if the switch on the light is on, and the headlights are on too.

I rewired mine to work with the headlights off. Just rewire the connector behind the front deck light switch to get constant power instead of from the headlight relay. I put in LED bulbs in mine to cut down on current draw if I forget and leave the switch on.
