compatibility of toyota wheels with other makes

I'm looking at buying a new set of wheels for my recently bought 88 4runner, and wondering what other makes' wheels might fit on it. I'd heard that maybe some chevy and nissan wheels have compatible lug patterns, hubs? not very knowledgable about wheel specs, but figure the more I know is compatible, the more of a selection i'll have when hunting for a deal. thanks

Most chevy 6 lugs will work just fine, the bolt pattern must be 6 on 5.5" and the rims must have a backspacing of about 4" or so.

and you might have to cut the centers out just a touch to fit over the lockouts, just be carefull with the torch whan you do it tho. thats if your using stock chevy wheels...

yeah my budy had the escalade rims on his truck he might join in here.

but if he doesn't this is what he had done he had to have the rim machined out in the middle to fit over the hubs and he was running 1" wheel spacers

also nissan 6lug rims fit too

Thanks, guys. So if I get this right, chevy 6 lug 5.5 pattern will fit, with a little mod necessary. Escalade/Avalanche same deal. Am I getting that right, any other wheels y'all can think of?

Last thing I wanna do is buy a set of wheels that don't fit or I don't mod properly, turns out should have been modified since they were an "almost fit" and I screw something up on the truck in the process. Planning on getting 33x12.5s, so I'd like to figure out the cheapest way to do this right.

Thanks again!

nissans and isuzu's should fit without problems. the chevy's have a smaller center bore that needs to be clearanced.
