Clear Lights & Paint Help

Couple of newbie questions for you guys...

1) If I did change the front signal lights on my '93 4Runner to clear as opposed to yellow (what they are now), does that mean that the lights will flash white instead of the normal yellow?

2) Are you guys familiar with revitalizing the paint job on a 2nd Gen 4Runner? I don't want a new style, I'd just like to make the one that came with it seem brand new. If that's at all possible. I'm not sure if there's a do-it-yourselfer guide I have not come across yet or some shops or Toyota dealerships that offer it.

1. Yes.

2. Wax and buff it.

1. You can replace the bulbs with yellow ones when you replace the lights. Otherwise they'll be white.

2. Depending on the condition of your paint, you may be able to wax it with a good cleaner wax and buff it yourself. If that fails, or if the paint is pretty bad, a good detail shop might be able to work a small miracle with some commercial products and some orbital buffers. If the paint is REALLY bad, there's probably no hope. Hard to tell without pictures.

for your second question and the suggestion of buffing is miss leading. The two posters before me are actually describing polishing work. So ignore the term buffing, as it is a vary different process. As long as your Base Coat is in good condition with no deep scratches or cracked paint. A polish job will do wonders. Polishing can be done at home with little invested, but you must be sure to use a polishing machine and not a buffer. Do a google search for Auto Body Polishing and check out youtube as well. good luck.

I put clear turn and corner lenses on my 95 4runner that I got off ebay , they both came with orange bulbs.
