hey everybody new to site, dont know much about rims and tires, for that matter yota's at all. but here it goes, i bought chevy rims but they dont fit, theres not enough thread so it rubs on the caliber. bought a spacer at 1 1/2 thickness but theres still not enough thread i get about a half a nut on the thread. i think there weld rims 15x8 on a 32x11.50r15lt tire, if that makes any deference any help would be great, thanks

you probably need 16" wheels like it came with stock.... I could be wrong though....

 

Google "backspacing and offset" There is more to rim fitting than the bolt circle diameter.

How will longer studs fix your caliper to wheel clearance?

 

@ xtream22r - GOOD QUESTION!!! i dunno its just something that passed my mine thinking of ways to make it work, i was thinking if i got longer studs for the yota i would get more of the nut on but its just going to keep rubbing, i guess i needed the spacer without the extra studs then put longer studs coming from the yota

 

what you need is a new set of wheels that fit.

BUT...if using a large spacer like this you definitely WANT the kind that has their own, separate studs. Spacer bolts to hub using original studs. Wheel bolts to spacer using the spacer's studs.

spacers over 2 inches are just dumb and ridiculous. they will make you break so much stuff. the buggy i helped build was running 3 inchers in the front and we busted like 3 knuckles without even wheeling hard. he is getting a double long side fj40 axle built for it now. anyways back on topic. you really do just need to get some new wheels, like someone said above i think you need 16 inch rims to fit.

Are you sure you're using the correct lug nut for the rim? When I switched to my Outlaw IIs, I had to get acorn lug nuts with the shank on the end (I can't remember what they are called), just like these:



The shank on the end goes between the rim and studs so it is fastened by more than just the little threads on the end. If I knew the exact brand and model of rim, I could look it up, but that's not the case here. Also, someone said this before, but it would help if the spacers you got had their own set of studs instead of trying to cram everything on one set of studs.

Sell the rims and tires, go buy a 16 inch rim like your truck was designed for.

ok so what happen was i wanted bigger rims and tires and my friend said i got a pair so i gave him money and he got me wut i needed and he told me they were Chevy rims but they would work, tired and now i have this problem, there nothing wrong with them its just time to upgrade and got all the wrong answers
