i forget where i saw it, so don't quote me. if it is a short bed, then there are a lot more options available.

When I was searching for a shell, I ran into the same issue, come to find out the 3rd gen's had that 7'4" option. Don't quote me but I think it was only for the DLX model trucks, which mine is. The manufacturer of my shell is RAIDER out of Canada.

irab88,

The differences between our beds and the taco's is the height of the cab and the angle of the rear window. My buddy has a '99 (I think) taco and there's about a 1.5" difference in cab height. (again I'm not sure who's is taller off the top of my head) but if you just need the be measurements the pre 2000 taco's have very nearly identical length, width, and inner height. the height between the bed rail and the bottom flat part of the bed.

Hey if you're in need of a shell, I'm off work tuesday and can surf the reaches of the web for a shell. I can PM you if I find anything once I learn how to PM lol

EDIT: nice pics btw. your truck looks nice and clean.

go to the user cp, there's a tab in it for pming, I just discovered it a few minutes ago.

and that is a nice clean truck, especially for being off the east coast, I'm over here too, but anyway, if your on a budget for an accesory a rollbar like I have can be bought used out of peoples yards and on occasin out of their truck beds, for under 50$, personally mine was a graduation gift from an old friend.

thanks guys. i do try to keep it clean, but things do break on it. the last thing was a lug nut stud which snapped off while rotating the tires. and before that, the fuel pump bracket ($380 for the part) had rusted through.

as for looking up a cap, if you want to, sure. i'm interested to know what would fit and look good. thanks. i'll look around a bit, too, between work and school

probably my second to last post here.

i went to the junkyard today and found an '87 (?) 4runner. while there was a lot of body damage, the "shell" was near perfect (i love the look of it). i tried fitting it on and, shocker, it fits. problem lies in the fact that the cab and rear windows are sloped and the shell is vertical. not only does it look odd, but i would need to make a valence to fill the gap. grrrr... so tonight i'll post pictures. i'm not getting it, though. just wanted to show you all that a 4runner "shell" WILL fit a short bed 93 ext cab pickup. if i had a regular cab, with the vertical cab end, i would probably get it. the guy wants $150 for it. the runner also has a nice bench seat and roll bar if anyone's looking. i just don't want it to go to waste.

soooo... whoever said "just get a 4runner" has the right idea for that kind if topper
