Bad water leak
#1
Ok, so I bought 1998 4Runner Limited with the 3.4. When I started up the car, I saw that there was water spraying everywhere, so I took off some stuff and saw that the water pump was cracked. I ordered a new water pump and thermostat and installed them today. When i filled the radiator up with anti freeze I noticed that there was another leak towards the back of the engine... I can not see where it's coming from, but the water is leaking out over the transmission pan. What do you think might be wrong, or where might my problem be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say its definetly leaking from your cooling system.
p.s. More info and pictures would be much more helpful. The only part of the cooling system that travels near the trans is the rear heater, and those lines are prone to rusting through in areas where they salt the roads.
Start there, get us more info, and just go out and take a look at the thing.

I'll try to get some pictures when it stops snowing, but it's hard to see where its leaking from with my eyes, I'm not sure if a camera would get a good picture.
I bought the 4runner off of ebay and it had a broken axle shaft which I replaced.
When We started it it didn't leak, but when I got it home, and fixed the axle shaft, I topped off the radiator and water went everywhere.
It is very hard to see where it is leaking from.
I still have the 4runner on the trailer that I used to tow it here.

*note to self, never buy without driving it first*
If your eyes can't see it, neither can our crystal ball. The crystal ball relies on an unhindered view of the leak.

The rear heater lines are not that hard to replace, I think if you spend a few mins searching on here, you will see many threads about members who have had to replace those lines. As I said before, its a very common problem where they salt the roads.

Hahaha, I'm just trying to get some suggestions..
I came in because of the snow and I am pretty frustrated because I fixed one leak and here comes another, right when I thought the problem was fixed.

Hahaha, thats why I'm posting in the newbie section... I should be allowed to ask stupid questions. I really don't work on cars at all so this is a new experience to me.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
