Same old question for the thousandth time. I have been a nissan guy for years and can give you all this info on a Hardbody, but not a Toyota. Finally came to the dark side a few months ago. Now looking to lock the rear and start moding it a bit, but am not up to speed on axles to know which lockers will fit mine. Mines a '91 v6 5spd ex. cab 4x4. Can you guys give me some insight to what axles/gears etc I have? or where to find that info on the stickers on the truck? I searched for this in the newbie section with alot of good info, but not exactly what I need.

 

You have an 8'' rear axle and if its stock then you probably have 4.10 gears, the front is a 7'' IFS axle. Look on the driver side door jam there is a sticker there that will give you the axle code. If your looking for lockers check out Marlin Crawler.

 

The front is a 7.5" diff as opposed to a 7". Yours is the older style 7.5", not the "high pinion" later model versions like mine. Your rear is called the "V6/Turbo 8" diff.

 

thanks guys. do you have the codes for the gears? In a Nissan CA41 means you have a c-series axles with 4.1 gears. I am not sure how Toyota codes work so I wrote them down to ask you guys.heres how the door jam reads on what I am assuming to be my axles and maybe tranny/engine stuff. The first line I believe to be engine/tranny related, but wrote it down any how.
