Anything go here?
I just purchased my first ('00)4runner a few weeks ago and was wondering about the small storage compartment in the rear. I noticed there are 2 straps on the wall in the compartment. Is this there something that is supposed to be there? Am I missing something? Thanks!

The tire jack tools on my '00 are located under the rear drive's side passenger seat along with the jack itself. I bought my '00 used also and there was nothing in the rear storage compartment, nor was there any info in the owner's manual about anything that should be in that compartment. I use the straps to hold my ball mount adapter or a tool bag.

I think in the manual it talks about the straps being for some type of emergency equipment, i believe it was like road triangles or a safety kit. It said that the vehicle does not come standard equipped with it but can be bought from your dealership (the safety equ. that is)

Thanks guys! At first I thought it was supposed to be the jack and everything, but while running the wires for my stereo I found the jack, so that got me wondering what or if something was missing. It looked like it had never been used. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, thats the first thing I was thinking. Though I will have to do some measuring because when i'm done I will have 2 amps. I'll have to see if both will fit.
