All-Pro SAS KIT?
#21
Just for comparisons sake, mine is TG 4 inch front and 5 inch rear kits. It also has a 1 inch body lift. The rear also got some other tweaks at fab time. We went with 1 inch longer shackles than come originally in the TG kit and also built up the mounting point on the frame for the rear shackle mount by 2 inches.
I haven't tried 37's yet but as you can see in the pics, there appears to be plenty of room. The truck is much bigger than I anticipated so I'm actually hoping for some settling in the springs. If it does settle significantly, maybe 37's won't fit. We shall see. You might also notice that I had to modify the wings on my rear bumper due to rubbing. (not modded in the first pic, trimmed back in the others)
I agree wholeheartedly with whokrz. Get locked in the rear and armorerd appropriately and you can have some big fun. Before the SAS that is what I did and I (pretty much) kept up with the 35" boys. Lockers and armor will transition right over to your SA project. IFS mods will not and IMO don't give you much return on investment. Decide on a body lift size before sliders if you go that route. I wish I had a 2" now but...

Thanks.
Short answer is I wish it was lower.
The longer answer is that all in all it feels pretty dang stable for the most part. I don't have much seat time yet since the swap so everything feels "different" or "a little funny" right now. Pucker factor was high when I went across this thing.

Fortunately I have the option of yanking off the top to lighten it up some.

sounds like you have heard of TG products. good thing you listened to the customers who have already purchased stuff from them. i have had no positive experiences with them. good luck with the search

does anyone have some pics of there rigs on 4",5",or 6" all pro springs? dosent matter the tire size just looking at the height difference. O and if i ran rears up front, i could i fit 35" TSL's? i think i would be able im just wondering.

I guess I'll pipe in here. My rig is too tall. If I were to build it all over again I'd ditch the body lift and cut the fenders. The only reason I haven't is because my bumpers and sliders were all built around the body lift. My rig is pretty tippy on off camber stuff. It sit's about 2" lower now than it does in that pic that is posted after two years of thrashing my springs. I will however put in a plug that the extra clearance has gotten me through stuff that others had issues with just because my sliders didn't hang up. It also does awesome in the snow!

Heres my thoughts. I just got back from a Evans Creek run here in WA (not in my rig) .. but got to see one rollover and a whole lot of carnage on other rigs and some rigs who made it look like nothing.
I have 37x12.5R15 MTR's coming in this coming week so... I will be running 37's soon on a SAS. =)
Ultimately you want your CG as low as you can get it. Talk to anyone who runs trails like Evans Creek, LOW CG is so critical!
A body lift doesnt raise your CG as much as a total suspension lift. Which raises the frame and drive train (bulk of your weight).
IMO if you're running springs, the more "flex" you get out of the longer springs doesnt justify the higher CG. Which makes your rig more unstable and far easier to flop over. Which I witnessed today. We had Jeep Cherokees, Wranglers, yotas and i was in a Ford Ranger (whats left of it you can call a Ford Ranger) and an Exploder (which flipped).
The Yota, a 1st gen on 33's hardly lifted made every obstacle look like a walk in the park, The Cherokee's (on 33's max) walked over everything, the rigs with bigger tires and taller had more issues .. like smashing doors, A pillars, and roofs on tree's and being closer to flippage than the others.
Food for thought. and TG's stuff is actually pretty good. I dont see any difference between their kit and All pro's other than All pro's cost more.

However, Chris Geiger was NEVER the owner of Trail-Gear and no longer works there anyway. He is now a professional photographer.
This is FACT.

Chris Geiger was fired from All-Pro and took the designs to Marlin Crawler who then came out with a suspension line identical to All-Pro's. Then Chris went to Trail-Gear where they did the same thing.

Yah i like your truck alot but for me its just a little too high. i would like mine 2" or so inches lower and on tsl's. i hear iroks are great for grip in almost any surface but load up in the mud making them slip all over and also ware quick. but thats what im hearing. like your bumpers they look sick

ya maybe he didnt make it because he was driving a jeep lol. nah but did you see how he got to that point and the upper weight took him right over? if he was lower he would of had a better chance.
