adding 2inch body lift to the runner

you wont run into any problems. you'll just need to do a couple cosmetic things. if you have aftermarket bumpers, they need to be lifted. your exhaust probably needs to be tucked. if the shifter isn't comfy, buy a shifter extension. anyone else can chime in and tell you if anything else needs to be done.

i think the main problen youd run into is not searching enough...
this topic has been covered numerous times...
basically it comes down to how much do your trust your truck and how badly you want to worry about the COG...
itll be fine to run the 3" BL with the 4" SUSP. lift, but just keep in mind that you have effectively raised your COG 8-9" when combined with the tires...
i mean, how much lift do you really need?? if it were me, and i needed all that lift for whatever reason, id drop the money on a SFA and not have to worry about the horrendus stability problems associated with the IFS and massive lift combinations...
but i digress... as i said, its purely on personal preference... whatever you choose, good luck!

my buddy has a 3 inch body lift on his 85 runner. cant even get into 4x4 bc there isnt enough room for the shifter to manuver. so definately shifter extensions. his stick is a bit low and at a reach too.

i have a few friends with 3inch body. but i want 4inch suspension 3inch body. its my daily driver im buying a 84 85 ext cab stocker to build a wheeler. im a kid still. love being tall but driving good. SAS is in mind but i dont have the money atm i am going to one day. i just like the idea of it atm
got the money too.
got the money too.Lift as little as possible but as much as you need. if you're just trying to clear your 35s as you have stated in other threads i've read, just do a 1". whats the point of running 7" of lift on an IFS? on my 4runner im doing 2" body lift, and a Old man emu kit. it should add up to 1.5 front and 2" in the back of suspension and a 2" body. giving 3.5 and 4.0 inches of lift... perfect for 33s.

a solid front axle doesn't automatically offer more stability, AFAIK even with spacers up front (to match the rear axle width) you're still not going to be more stable, and likely you will be more unstable because of the flexy arse springs LOL.
in my opinion, just do a 2" body lift and be done with it, might look into gettin a set of maybe 1" wheel spacers all the way around to widen it so it will be more stable...or 1.5" spacers whichever you prefer lol
or in my case (If he's still around) I'm going to look up Blazeland and buy his LT kit to put on top of my 4" bracket lift, it should net around 6"-7" altogether, and it'll be realllyy nice on the road and off, plus a set of lifted LC coils in there rear
...of course then i gotta cut up the hood and such when i put the 3.4 in there, or do a 1" body lift lmao, can't forget about spacers for the rear as well..although it might be better to leave em off?

If you don't need to go with a body lift, I'd say don't. I've got a 1" body lift, and it gets the job done for 33-12.50's. I like the lift, and the simple install. I didn't have to do anything other than adjust the steering, and drill new holes in the front bumper so it didn't have a gap between the grill. The shifters do bind up a little, though. I can still access any gear combo in any setting of the transfer case, but the shifter will pop out of second gear sometimes if I let off too fast. Other than that, I wouldn't lift just for the looks. I think it's great to have a daily driver that is very capable, since you never know when you might want to wheel, or when you NEED to wheel.

How much more lift do you need to totally clear your 35s? Lower COG and less body roll will make for a more capable wheeler. I would do the smallest possible lift you can do while still clearing your tires, otherwise you're working against yourself for a good trail rig.
