89 Runner water pump ???

Yes, I'm a noob... Let's get that out of the way...I'm in the process of changing the timing belt/ water pump. I don't know if the water pump has been changed. 3.0 v6 manual w/ 124,000 miles. The pump on the truck does not have a 1/2" outlet port at the thermostat. The new pump does. I need a new radiator and was told the hose port goes to the heater core. I saw on a thread its for an oil cooler. What pump should I have and what's the port REALLY for??? Thanks...

you might want to visit toyotapartszone.com or toyodiy.com to get a visual of the replacement of the water pump.

I can't directly answer your question-but it seems to me you are using a different part than recommended for direct replacement(?) Otherwise I would venture a guess they should be identical to one another.

Glad to help out. a picture would go a long way. I'm no mechanic and not pretending to be-but I will help keep your thread going to get it talked out.
