stupid question of the day

02 limited 4runner.
ok so i am going to be buying 7 wrap lc and tundra coils and at first was looking for struts for the 4 runner to go with them... then i realized those probably wont work. now my question is do i need to be looking for extended 4runner struts or stock options for each veh the coils are coming from ? Also i thought about getting the adj. bilstiens from toytech and the same question applies there. do i need the ones from the runner section or the ones from the tundra/ section since the bilstiens say for 3" of lift.

figured i would throw this question in here too, tundra coils, adj bilstiens and top out spacers will give me how much lift do you think? i know it wont be level w the 7 wraps since that is about 3.5 but can i get the front to 3 since i have read stock billys on tundra give about 2

Well welcome to the forum.

Whew that is quite a few questions. Consider reading up on other threads from guys already running this combination.

Also consider T4R.org for 4Runner specific questions.

the rear first:

The 7 wrap LandCruiser coils will give you a bunch of lift on an 02 Runner. Exact amount I am not sure. But my guess would be roughly 5". Yes, you will need extended length shocks to get the full benefits of droop. There are a few complications to running that tall of spring out back. One such complication is the panhard bar. You may also be pushing your luck with brake line length and ebrake cable.

the fronts:

Hard to know what height you will gain with the combo stated. Since the Bilstein shocks within the springs are adjustable, it's your choice by the position of the shocks on the adjusting threads of how little or how much lift you will gain. Compared to stock my guess is as little as 3" of lift or as much as 5"-since you have not stated the thickness of the spacer.

Read up on Sonoran Steel website for a wealth of 3rd Gen 4Runner lifts. Also Toyteclifts.com is really helpful . Tell Dylan I sent ya.

75 people looked in before I attempted a response this evening. Try to keep your questions very specific for best results.

I am not running the setup you are mentioning and not pretending to be an expert. But lifts are a common issue both here and on T4R.

Search for terms like "LC Coils" or "7 wrap" or "adjustable Bilsteins" on this forum in the 3rd gen section/T4R.org or even Google. You will be amazed how many threads exist on lifts with just this setup.

And there are no stupid questions-especially in Newbie Tech.

Hope this helps.
