Question 88 don't like any water

Hi Every one

I'm new to toyota & need a little help.I did look around & did not find want I'm looking for.
My Toy is a 1988 truck,22re.6" of water at 7mph it starts to spit&sputter. It took about 1 min. of sitting there with it doing the spit&sputter thing. Then it picked up & was runng fine.
What is the common things to look for to stop this?
Thank You

Do a tune up...Get a new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Sounds electrical.

I don't have an o-ring in my cap either...It only sputters going through a bunch of water, like 2 feet or so. That was the last time it started to miss from moisture.
