i just bought a 86 Toyota 4runner first Toyota and its either a valve that is knocking or some one said it could be a crank and it doses not have much power any suggestions on what to try i am not a micannic but i can make do if i have to i am pretty new at it so helpfully nothing to series

 

Ok, is it knocking, with no power?

Does it smoke at all?

Does the engine idle fine?

To be honest it could be allot of things. But we need to know more about what's going on.

It could be fairly simple, or it could mean a new engine.

 

wial i found out that its a knock sensor and YES i need a NEW moter so i am going to start the rebled this week is thare any pointers that any one can tell me win pulling it and thangs to look out for ect thanks

 

sure, get a good cam, header, and muffler. you'll be set.
