#6 cylinder skip

#6 cylinder skip
Hi Folks,
I have a 91 Toyota pickup 3.0 litre with 285K miles. Just recently I started getting a slight skip. With the truck running and I pull off the plug wire going to the #6 cylinder from the distributor there is no change in the way it runs. I swapped the plug wires and still has the same problem. When I pull the wires from the other distributor contacts the truck runs extremely rough. When you pull the wire from the distributor and hold it close to the contact you can see it arc between the wire and the contact. Same when you pull the boot from the plug you can see it arc there as well. Seams to just be on #6 cylinder. Could the distributor cap be bad not allowing enough fire to the #6 plug to fire the cylinder. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
