3rd Gen truck: No compression-coolant everywhere

ok, was going down the highway tonight. hear a pop, and see smoke coming out of the exhaust, instantly, the interior fills with smoke and a baaad smell. drove a few more miles to the next exit, didnt notice much smoke from the exhaust, started to get hot. got to the exit, truck was in red, tigh pitched tap. pulled it out of gear, it stalled, put it in 3rd and it restarted, got to the bottom of the exit, stalled again, died, and steamed and smoked from the engine bay.now when i try to start it, it turns, but sounds like theres no compression. coolant everywhere, will take pix and further description when the sun comes up.

blown headgasket
probably.
the water would prevent your truck from running, and the thing would smoke like no other.

Sounds to me like the waterpump impeller broke taking out the timing belt and if it is a 3-vze you probably blew the headgaskets when the motor got hot. Not to reprimand but any signs of billowing smoke/ temp getting hot means stop driving NOW!!! Not wait till an exit pull over you probably did more damage by driving it till it died.

top of radiator is blown out, pulled valve cover and timing looks perfect, oil looks clear, some kind of fluid in throttle body.

ok, just got through pulling the head, the gasket looked fine, theres no scoring on the cylendar walls, underside of head shows only one exhaust port opened, but no coolant in the cylanders. what could have caused the loss of compression to fire the engine?
