3.slow has gotta go

I've got a 92 4runner and I've got it running in tip top condition but not enough power. The volkswagen busses are passing me uphill. I'm thinking of putting in a 3.4 litre but wonder if that will be enough to get me around the Rocky Mountains here. I've heard about the 4.0 liters. Is that a realistic proposition?

the 3.4 should be good enough but you could probably get better power for hills and offroad by putting a set of cams and having a y pipe made for your 3vze one other problem might be if you have a auto the auto's with 3vze's are ˟˟˟˟˟
i drive my stock 3.0 up to reno a couple times a year and never lose that much power even with the large altitue change

yeah the 3.0 sucks. Mine was rebuilt last year with and sucks going up hills and its stock. there is a place here in oregon that does 3.4 swaps for a good price so I am going to do that next summer.
