3.4 swaps

So I have a my second 3rd gen pickup my first one had the 3.0 and wasn't to bad but no power. I now have a new 3.0 and Im doin the 3.4 swap into it the motor is almost ready to drop in my only problem my motor is a 2001 so I don't have the oil dipstick plug. I've been looking around on where to find one and what size. Does anybody know where I could find one? Any tips would be great. Thanks

What do you mean it doesn't have the plug?

IIRC, the plug was just in the block so you could knock it out and install your new dipstick in the new location really easy.

Mine did not have this plug either, i had to drill through the block to relocate the dip stick.

I just drilled mine out tonight. I was talking about a plug for the original dipstick hole. Did you use a 3.0 dipstick?

negative, i used the 3.0L pan and a different dipstick..

(i was lame and kept both dip sticks tubes in the motor so i didn't have to plug the hole)

That's a good idea haha. Yeah that's what I'm using. I just not sure what to use for the new dipstick.

Hopefully dropping the motor in tomorrow. Been in the garage to long and needs to be done. After the motor is the SAS

Tapped and used a three eights brass plug, iirc on the size, with thread sealer and high temp silicone.

I see there is people say that you should use the 3.0 hardware for the transmission and motor mount hook up. Will the original 3.4 bolts work for the transmission to engine hook up?

There are threads for all your questions already. Deathcougar has one specifically about oil pan and dipstick info.
