3.0 problems

so im new to this site but not totally new to yotas. im from shelbyville ky and would love to find some toyota people around my area.

But anyway i recently just purchased an 88 4runner 3.0 v6 5 speed. theres 250k on body which is in great shape and 91k on motor tranny swap from a 91. (or so the p/o said) now the truck runs amazing but at idle when at low rpm it likes to run rough. its not overly bad but you can def tell its there. the wires are good and spark plugs are fine. nothing is leaking out of it so idk.

i have heard that the 3.0 do run like that sometimes for some odd reason but i thought i would ask some of you guys first. thanks

any feedback would be greatly helpful.
thanks

does it occur when she's cold or hot? or just whenever she's idling?

Dirty throttle body, dirty air cleaner, possible vacuum leak. Dried up corroded o-ring on idle air screw. That's just a few things it could be. Any recent service records? What brand are the plus and wires?. Did you pull and check them.

My advice would be, get a factory service manual, you might be able to download one, but might be difficult as source for this has been discontinued. There is alot of info on rough idle for 3vzzzy's. Good luck with your rig and post up on the idle gremlin.

so i i think i may have found out what my idle problem was. i have a small pin size hole in the incoming fuel line above the drive shaft!

should i do a patch kit. take out the hole with excess of an inch on each side flare the ends of the existing tube and slide and clamp over a gas rated rubber one?
or
should i just get a whole new line so i dont have to worry about another leak?
