hi ima newbie so heres my problem my brother and i traded his 240sx for a 95 toyota 2wd pick up thats got airbags on it and it got too low and the front pass tire ate up the main harness. So we swaped it out for an other harness now it wont start it just truns over runs for like ten seconds then bog downs and dies. and im geting no check engine light, not even when i try to jump it to read the codes it still wont show the MIL so i could really use some help
I rechecked all my grounds tryed 3 ECUs and 3 harnesses and 4 MAFs PLEASE I NEED HELP

 

i thought the fuel pump wasnt working so i jumped it also it ran then dyed

 

well it sounds like mafs, but u said u checked that, i would try to find out what its losing, fire or fuel has to be one of the two, so figure out which one its losing and start there, good luck

 

im getting spark to all the plugs and i dont know how to check fuel pressure could someone please lend me a helping hand

 

so when the key is in the ON positon it i can hear the fuel pump humming but when i try to turn the key it wont crank over, so i thought it mighy be a wrong starter wire so i got the one with the black and yellow but when i put the key in the on positon it just cranks over with no power from the FP.

 

could it be that i jumped timing? gunna check tomorrow

 

So you've got spark, jump your fuel connectors and see what happens. You say that it ate up the main harness, did you reconnect all the wires properly? good connections? no shorts?

 

heres the kicker now that i jump the FP it wont send a singal now

 

Sounds like your fuel pump is only running in high voltage mode. As soon as it tries to cut down to low voltage, the pump dies. Check to make sure your fuel pump resistor is plugged in.

 

is that the 3 or 4 plug on the farthest clip to the rear of the tank?

i checked and rechecked everything so i swaped back to the OG harnness after i cut and spliced a few wires and the same thing. i pulled the fuel pump adn bench tested it and it worked fine but i did notice that the bottem ruber gruomet kinda leakes will that matter because its in the take and air tight?

 

i finally got her to turn over...damn egr was stuck...ill post pics soon...
