22re 1985, no start woes
Like the title says.
22re, swapped a manual in for the blown auto. Motor ran fine pre swap first crank.
swapped, replaced plugs wires cap rotor. Made sure to jump the neutral safety switch wires.
now it will crank, it has spark, but won’t start/run.
It can run for a half second or two on starter fluid in the intake.
Any recs? Reaching the end of my rope.

Did yo check that the COR's two halves are getting energized at the right times? There's a half of it that get's energized, by a signal from the key switch, while cranking, to provide fuel pressure during start up, and then another half that is energized, by a signal from the MAF, once the engine starts. Also, make sure the fuel pump is running when it get's the right signals. You can verify it by jumpering the Fp and B+ pins in the test jack. Do that, you'll be able to hear the fuel pump running. Do NOT run the engine, or drive the truck, with the jumper in. It's a safety feature, and absolutely vital for the safety of the vehicle. The COR system is there to shut the fuel pump off if the engine stops, even if the key is still ON. Like during an accident. Thus, the fuel system, should it be broken open during a wreck, won't pump fuel out onto the ground. VERY important.
To hear if the fuel pump is running, energized by the COR during the start cycle, you can turn the key to start, but do not press the clutch down, or the clutch start cancel switch. Don't do it very long, just long enough to hear the fuel pump run or not.
To hear if the fuel pump is being energized during the run portion of the operation, open the door of the MAF, even slightly. With the key in the ON position, you'll be able to hear the fuel pump run.
Does this help any?
