20r upgrades - how much hp and torque you think?

I have just done some upgrades to my 20r.

32/36 Weber Carb conversion w/ stock intake manifold
OBX Header w/ 2" 1/8 exhaust piping with a straight flow muffler
Rebuilt head w/ a 226 duration @ .50 .433 lift
Removed Air Pump all smog stuff and A/C.
Added electric radiator fan

How much HP and Torque would you guy's estimate?

I agree. If you did all the upgrades on a fresh short block, you might see a little more. But all that on a engine that has seen a few miles, and most likely all you did was help it breathe better for a couple extra ponies and a wee bit of stump-pulling torque. Don't misunderstand me, I think it's a great thing to do, I just know the 20/22R engines don't really have a whole lot to give in the power department. Even turbo'd and brand new, they aren't bullets... They're an 8 valve 2.2-2.4liter. Ya can't expect it to pull the front tires off the ground.... (dual cases and 5.29s and throttle bouncing doesn't count.... Lol)

Well heck, I was thinking truck. My bad. You definitely doubled your HP since its in a Celica. Easy 200 to the ground....

Lol. But being in a lighter vehicle, you prob have better response and seat-of-the-pants feel since you have helped the breathing. It sounds like a blast!

You might have gotten 5 hp out of the changes, with the biggest factor being the e-fan and smog stuff. The 32/36 is very close to a stock Aisin so no real gain there. All a cam does is move the power band around, so no hp gain there. Since your running a stock intake, your not pulling any more air, so your headers are just there for looks...oh and a little rumble.

Here is where you gained the most though, knowledge of your truck. That is worth more than all that stuff listed combined. Plus all the preventive maint. you put into new seals and such.

Duh! Celicas double the HP of whatever engine is under the hood.... So if the dyno shows 77hp, then that same engine in a truck is only 38.5....

See if you can find a 22R, build it and swap it in, every little bit helps.

Check out LC Engineering, they have all kinds of performance parts and accessories for toyotas.
