Thumbs down 2" body lift with 33x12.50s?

I've gone digging through the normal IFS lift threads for tires and other searches, but I haven't really found a real answer, so I'm starting a thread just to get a firm answer on this!

I'll be doing a 2" body lift with a drivetrain lift, and I want to run a 33x12.50 under it. The truck currently sits on 34x10.50's with cranked t-bars, but the lets face it, that rides like garbage. Fenders have already been trimmed and such as well.

Will raising the body help for the extra width of the tire under full compression, steering lock to lock, etc? Most likely will put them on a 15x8 Black Rock Lobo's with 4" BS. Unless I need to run a 10" wide rim with them?

Also, what luck have you guys had running lockrights on the trails? Do they hold up well?

Thanks for the help!

yes the tires will fit, but why downsize? id just keep running the 34s. Put the body lift on and relax your tbars (do bj spacers if you need to) and then see what you have for clearance. But you should be fine. 33x12.5 will fit on a stock rig with just a simple pinch pounding, but you said that your fenders are already trimmed, so you should be all set.

Or go to 3.75" backspacing, your tires will stick out a bit more but you'll have more clearance.

33x12.50s on 8" rims, close to stock backspacing and 1" body lift:

Keeping the tires in as close to the body will help reduce the chances of rubbing while turning:

The 34" LTB's that are on it are horrible. I can't stand the road noise on them, and one of them is slightly out of round. A good trail tire, and I'll keep them mounted on a spare set, but I'd also like a wider foot print for the trail, atleast as far as tread is concerned. 34" LTB's really aren't 34" anyways. Factory they only measure like 33.6"? So its pretty much a 33 since mine have some wear on them lol

Sorry, a little off topic...

Where did you buy the 1"? I was thinking about going 1" instead of 2" on my truck.

Thanks, I see they have a 1.5" kit so I will probably go with that one.
