1990 4Runner rear window replacement

So, I broke the back window of my 1990 (2nd gen) 4runner. I've found a myriad of replacement windows, so that's not the issue. The window motor seems to be intact, so that's not the issue either.

The issue is this: I am a "noob", and before I potentially screw up everything by opening up the tail gate to remove the broken glass that fell inside, I want to know if anyone has any tips, or any specific do's or don'ts, or just anything they've learned doing it themselves.

Thanks!

so to install new glass your going to have to unbolt the motor from the tailgate and in order to out the arms in the bracket in the bottom of the glass. dont forget to plug in rear defroster.
