1990 4runner 1/2 shaft replacement
Got a 1990 that has the driver's side halfshaft boot leaking. Understandably with 209k miles. I have not found in all my searches with a definative how to do this but odds and ends? Can a good soul steer me in the right direction here if I havenot found the right link? I've seen undo the lowerball joint ect. Is there a real bonifide way to do this listed here. I have the diagrams on disk but need the poop from here.
any help would be appreciated!

Try searching on CV or halfshaft
Basically, it goes like this:
- jack up a-arm under the lower balljoint as high as possible, I find it helps to put a jackstand under the opposite rear corner
- remove tire
- remove outer hub
- 12mm bolt in end of CV
- 6 17mm bolts from stub shaft to CV shaft
- remove the CV
- be sure to grease the spindle bushing while you have the CV out!
Installation is the reverse.
Sometimes removing the shock helps too.
