WTB Sending unit 81
Anyone know where a guy can get a sending unit for my 1981?
I'd also like to get a tank hose, just to be on the safe side as long as I have it all apart.
My sending unit LOOKS ok, lil rusty, but the arm moves up and down. I'd just like to know it all works perfectly before putting it all back together when my tank is repaired and shipped back.
Thanks,
Mark

Probably the dealership. It should be the same in-tank unit from all genera of carbureted 22R trucks.
To test it, you can rig it up to a voltmeter, run 12V through it, and manually move the arm. The resistance should increase as you move the arm further out to the thinner end of the contact.
As far as the hose, are you talking about the fuel line or the filler neck hose?
I'm pretty sure both can be replaced with over-the-counter parts from a NAPA.

I've already asked them and Napa doesn't carry that hose. I was talking about the one that you stick the pump in to fill it at the station. Sorry.
But I'm going to check that with a friend's voltmeter.
Good stuff, thanks.
