I'm looking for a pair of rubber shifter boots (the center console pieces) and a shift knob for my '86 4x4 Pickup. They have to be OEM, can be brand new or used, can't be damaged, and the shifter boots must come with the mounting plate. The boots also have to be the ones designed for the G52 transmission.
OEM parts like these are very hard to find where I live (DFW, north Texas); the local junkyards are completely hopeless most of the time. I think my best source for OEM parts is the 4Runner House in Garland, who will call me if any shifter boots arrive, but I'm still waiting (it's been months since my last visit). I think it's about time to continue my search.
I'd prefer to buy these parts locally if anyone in DFW has them, but I'll drive all the way out to Houston or Oklahoma if I have to.
We can work out a price if you have my desired parts.

When my '85 was stolen, the shifter boots and knobs we're among the parts harvested off it. I got a really good replacement on eBay for about $40 iirc. I found one in a salvage yard, but it was in terrible shape so I passed. Knobs are also on eBay, but the prices are mostly ridiculous. I know you want OEM but Marlin crawler has cheap replacement knobs you could use for now.

Here's what I currently have BTW. As you can see, the vinyl shifter boots are in pretty bad shape with holes torn through them, and the shift knob is not the original one except for the transfer case knob. They can't be seen in the picture, but the gear lever's rubber boot that was originally supposed to go under the vinyl boot is missing, and the transfer case lever's rubber boot underneath did not appear to be the correct one as it looked more round than square like it should be. I'd like to get rid of the vinyl boots completely and replace them with new rubber ones.

The description says they are genuine Toyota, there is a square one and a round one depending on your model of transmission\tcase.
For the rubber shifter boot, I believe it is no longer available from Toyota, at least I could not find one (I'm looking to replace mine because it is ripped in several places). I did find some on ebay and most of them seemed to have the metal plate with them. You have to be careful to find one with the right number of holes for your truck, there appear to be at least 2 different types. I would love to find a new old stock one that has never been used, I'm a bit reluctant to pay upwards of $30 for a 30 year old piece of rubber. I currently don't need the individual lever boots, but now I at least know where to find new ones so thanks anyway for the link. What I meant was the shifter boot that goes in the center console, but that is a little confusing considering both shifter pieces are called boots.
I did check eBay for the shifter boot, but of course the prices are just too high. I'm not going to buy from eBay unless I end up with no other options.
The City Racer boot in the second link may not come with the metal mounting plate, but they at least have mounting holes that can be punched out. However, it seems to have been designed for the W56 transmission since the boot for the gear lever is offset to the left. I have the G52 transmission, whose gear lever is offset to the right as seen in the picture above, so I'm not sure if a W56 boot would fit.

Well, you never know, perhaps someone out there just happens to have an entire surplus of discontinued OEM Toyota parts laying around waiting to be sold. Wishful thinking, I know, but I'm not going to let the difficulty of finding OEM parts stop me. If I can't find the parts I'm looking for at all, I'll come up with a solution, but for now I want to keep this thread up.
The main reason why I named a price was to meet the guideline requirements. This thread was my first time posting in the Classifieds, so I didn't want to get anything wrong. I'd actually be willing to spend more than $50 if I have to, so I'll edit my first post accordingly.
From my understanding, the G and W series transmissions were direct bolt in swap. One of my pickups had a G series trans installed to replace a W56, I suspect they reused the w56 boot, but maybe there's a part number difference?
Anyway, I'm up in Michigan, so rubber and such doesn't dry out so bad here like it does down south, I have probably a couple of the rubber boots with the metal plate to hold it down. The one I'm thinking of atm is from a 86 4runner that had a W56 4x4. Price referencing on ebay (i sell there fairly often anyway), and I'd be looking to get around $50 shipped. People are listing at $75+, but completed listings shows they actually sell consistently around $50-60.
If you'd like to hold out for cheaper, that's fine, I'll probably throw it up on ebay for $60 + shipping if you don't want it since it seems to be a hot item currently (high demand, low stock).
Update: I've since gotten the shifter boot but still looking for the shift knob.

I got the shifter boots via eBay from a place in North Carolina known as Toyota Foolish. Some of y'all may already be familiar with Toyota Foolish, but for those who aren't they have a wide selection of Toyota Pickup/4Runner parts and have 100% positive feedback, so I highly recommend checking out their eBay listings. I ended up spending a bit more on the shifter boots than I wanted to (about $90 without shipping), but they were the only G52 boots I could find at the time, so I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity.
I think only the vinyl shifter boots have the wire frame you mentioned, but if you meant the mounting plate, the boots didn't come with one (sometimes they do come with a mounting plate, but I guess that depends on the seller), so I had to use my current one, which is in rough but usable condition.
The install was pretty straightforward; unscrewed the gear knob, removed the shifter bezel with the vinyl boots, then removed the old rubber floor-mounted boots that laid beneath, put the "new" boots in, and screwed the gear knob back on. I couldn't unscrew my transfer case knob though because it was on there extremely tight, so I ended up having to stretch the boot over it to get it on (this didn't damage anything). I threw the vinyl boots away since they were torn and badly deteriorated but saved the shifter bezel even though I wasn't going to put it back in my truck, just in case someone local might want it.
Additionally, I mounted the shifter boots using only two of the six screws, as was done with the old boots (one at the upper left corner and the other at the bottom right corner). Since my truck has a 3-inch body lift, the gear and transfer case levers are lower down than normal, so if I used all six screws, the main boot would end up limiting the movement of the gear lever and prevent it from reaching/staying in certain gears (in my case, 2nd, 4th, and reverse). If your truck doesn't have a body lift, you should be able to use all six screws to hold the shifter boots down.
I'll post a picture later to show how the boots look installed. The resulting setup isn't very pretty in my case, but it works and I'm just happy to have "new" shifter boots lol.

Here are the new shifter boots. Notice how the central divider on the mounting plate had been cut out and part of the right side of the hole in the floor had been trimmed. Due to the body lift, this was done by one of the previous owners to make clearance for the gear lever's movement. That's also why I decided not to put the shifter bezel back on, as it would've interfered with the movement of the gear and transfer case levers. Since the right side of the hole had been trimmed, there's nothing to hold the base of the boots up on that side, so I tried to cover the gap with some duct tape. If your truck has no body lift and there are no modifications to the shifter boot mounting plate and/or transmission tunnel hole (not sure what it's actually called), your setup should look better than mine lol.
Looks like the boots get stressed more with the lift, leaving the metal retaining plate off is probably a good idea or using washers or something, looks like the part that orig went across is sticking out a bit and might have been the reason why the last one ripped. I've never ran a lifted body since i've always gone for suspension based lifts, but it looks like if you mounted the shift boots back about an inch it might be happier, but the top gears (1,3,5) are probably the same way I guess.
I take it someone added the carpeting in, it doesn't have the stock cut lines from what I've remembered, but I've only had like one truck with stock carpet. Looks like the carpet matches pretty well though.

It actually shifts pretty smoothly and doesn't pop out of any gears, but yeah I'll have to figure out how to make it work better.
About the old vinyl boots getting torn, I think it's because the part of the mounting plate that was cut was not removed; it was cut at one end and then bent upwards (notice the sharp piece of metal sticking up in the pic of the old boots), but my dad helped me cut the rest of it off with a pair of metal cutters.
Right, the carpet isn't original and was there when I got the truck, but it's good.
